The book starts with the basics of the real estate industry as a scientific discipline and provides an insight into the state and development of research.

In the chapter Leadership, fundamental topics such as planning, organization, controlling and personnel development are examined from the perspective of the real estate industry. It provides an overview of real estate as part of urban and regional planning as well as an environmental factor. In addition, the typical real estate life cycle is outlined – from project development and construction project management to facility management. Subsequently, an overview of all forms of real estate management is given under the keyword strategy.

Finally, the work illuminates the area of transactions in the context of aspects of analysis, valuation, investment, financing and risk management of real estate.
The book is published by Prof. Dr. Nico B. Rottke and Prof. Dr. Matthias Thomas. In future, the series will be supplemented by two further volumes on the topics of economics and law. All in all, this will result in a textbook and fundamental work that also puts research and teaching into practice.
